Planet Trillius Prime is a planet in the Trill system of the Alpha Quadrant between Sun and Bajor.
Trill is a very sparsely populated planet with only a few million inhabitants.
Its oceans are predominantly blue (see DS9 season 2).
The Star Trek: Star Charts has suggested that the Trill homeworld is in the Kalandra sector.
Trill aka Gliese 67 binary system is located about 41.55 light-years (ly) from Sol.
The primary star is a yellow main sequence dwarf star of spectral and luminosity type G2 V.
A little bigger and brighter than Sol, the star may have 1.1 percent of Sol's mass, 1.1 % of sol's diameter, and close to 1.28 times its luminosity.
The secondary star (recently discovered) is a red main sequence dwarf star of spectral and luminosity type M3V.
Trill is near Astral (2.7 LY), Draylon (9.6 LY) and Gallima (13.0 LY).
History
Trill's first contact with alien life was in the early 21st century, when a Vulcan ship landed, proposing friendship
and cultural information exchange.
In the first appearance of Trill in the TNG episode The Host, Trill were depicted physically quite
differently than their later appearances.
In the fictional Star Trek universe, the Trill are a species of symbiotic lifeforms native to the Alpha Quadrant.
Their home world is also Trill.
As Trill society grew, their governments adopted a system influenced by the symbionts.
The symbiont populations grew much more slowly than the Trill humanoid populations, so many Trill competed to have the right qualifications to be selected as a host.
In late 2268, Trill sought admission to the United Federation of Planets.
This planet is the homeworld of Jadzia DAX.
