DESCRIPTION
Makus III is the third planet (or Makus IV if we count the inner belt ?)
in the Star system HIP-13976 at 77.5 LY from Sun.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, Makus is located near New Paris in Alpha quadrant, in the Cetus constellation.

The star is a K2V solar-like.
Makus star (or Makkus ?) is orbited by seven planets and two asteroid fields.
Makus is near New Paris (22.0 LY), Evora (11.4 LY) and New France (20.0 LY).
New Paris is the second planet in the Star system HIP-11349 at 95.2 LY from Sun.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, New Paris is located near Makus in Alpha quadrant,in the Cetus constellation.

This star is a G9V solar-like 0.88 times bigger and 0.49 brighter.
The New Paris star is orbited by eight planets.

HISTORY

Galactic High Commissioner Ferris was a 23rd century Federation bureaucrat.
In 2267, Ferris was overseeing the delivery of medical supplies aboard the USS Enterprise to Makus III, for transshipment to the New Paris colonies.
In 2371, there is a spacedock around the M-Class planet which is a construction of a Federation Starbase, designated later as Starbase 245, began in orbit of the planet.
Makus III is now a major port of call for freighters and cargo ships from all over the Beta and Alpha Quadrants.
