DESCRIPTION
Makus III is the third planet in the Star system HIP 39157 at 55.7 LY from Sun.
Makus is located near New Paris in Alpha quadrant in the Gemini constellation.
(TOS: "The Galileo Seven") 
The star is a K0V solar-like 0.84 times bigger and 0.41 brighter.
Makus star (or Makkus ?) is orbited by seven planets and two asteroid fields. 
Makus is near Kantare (14.7 LY), New Paris (19.2 LY) and Breel (20.5 LY).


HISTORY
The planet became colonized by the 2220s.
Galactic High Commissioner Ferris was a 23rd century Federation bureaucrat. 
In 2267, Ferris was overseeing the delivery of medical supplies aboard the USS Enterprise to Makus III, 
for transshipment to the New Paris colonies.
In 2371, there is a spacedock around the M-Class planet which is a construction of a Federation Starbase, 
designated later as Starbase 245, began in orbit of the planet.
Makus III is now a major port of call for freighters and cargo ships from all over the Beta and Alpha Quadrants.
