History

In 2167, Beta III was visited by the Daedalus-class Federation starship, USS Archon, conducting a survey

mission.

The Archon was brought down by Landru and its crew all either absorbed or killed by Landru.

A century later, the USS Enterprise was dispatched to Beta III to ascertain the fate of the Archon

.(TOS episode: "The Return of the Archons")

Starfleet considered using Beta III as a starship maintenence facility in the 2260s.

In 2267, the USS Enterprise was scheduled to deliver supplies to the colony when it was intercepted

by Trelane's planet Gothos. (TOS: "The Squire of Gothos")

The Beta 6 Colony was flourishing, with a population of 87,000, mostly Humans and Andorians.

It had only class 1 facilities for starship support.

It's a Federation Member since 2378.

The USS Lievin has found USS Archon lost in 2167 on Beta III, with its tractor beam, the USS Archon

was located in orbit.

N.B.

It Was originally the site of an Orion Colony.

Later, it was joined by Human and Andorian settlers (2195).

So I choosed Gliese 86 which is at 34.8 LY from Sun, at 36.4 LY from Andoria and at 34.5 LY from Orion.

 

Starbase 10 turns around Beta III.

USS DELESTREZ (v4) and its shuttles turn around Starbase.

USS Monarch, Minotaur and O'Connell protect the starbase.

The USS Orion and Okinawa are at docks.

USS Tau goes out starbase.

Beta Shipyards & Repairs (sept 2014) turn around Beta VI.

It makes vessels of Cypress class.
