DESCRIPTION :
Aldebaran III is the third planet in the Aldebaran B star system at 66.7 LY from Sun.
Aldebaran III, the only class M planet in the Alpha Tauri system, has six moons.
According to the Star Trek: Star Charts, Star is located in Taurus constellation in the Beta Quadrant.
The star is a red dwarf (M2V) with same size than Sun but 0.035% brighter.
The primary is Alf Tau or Aldebaran A, an orange giant (K5III) with brown dwarf.
The system has 4 another K-type stars : C (K0V ?) with D (K5V ?) and E (K7V ?) with F (K7V ?).
Fictious nebula Betreka is near Aldebaran systems.
Aldebaran is near Pentarus (16.9 LY), Barson (26.0 LY) and New-Paris (28.2 LY).
HISTORY :
It's a member of UFP since 2216.
By the 2260s, Aldebaran was a major port-of-call for Starfleet starships.
In 2265, The USS Enterprise stopped at Aldebaran colony.

The sixth-largest shipyard in Starfleet, the New Aberdeen Ship Yards is located
on the Federation world of Aldebaran III.
The Advanced Starship Design Bureau's (ASDB) Spacecraft Shielding Division is headquartered here.
